MOSCOW, Jun 9 Work on creating a methane engine for the Russian reusable Amur-LNG rocket will be completed by the end of 2025, Sergey Kovalev, director of the Chemical Automation Design Bureau, said in a Roscosmos video.
“Today we are creating a fundamentally new engine with a thrust of 100 tons. our new development. The first engine should appear at the end of this year, then go through a cycle of fire tests, and all work should be completed by the end of 2025,» Kovalev said in a video distributed by Roscosmos.

The design of Amur-LNG started in 2020 on the order of Roscosmos. It should be a two-stage medium-class rocket. Its first launch from the Vostochny Cosmodrome was originally planned for 2026.
