The Muscovite was detained at the airport with the use of force and arrested three times in a row; he was persecuted because of the symbols of «Azov» in 2022

At the airport «Zhukovsky» security forces in mid-May with the use of force detained a Muscovite Timofey Rudenko, his friend, who asked for anonymity, told Mediazona. After that, the courts imposed administrative arrests on him three times.

On May 18, Rudenko was going to fly to Kyrgyzstan. Relatives told the OVD-Info project that at the airport he was detained by unmarked masked men who used a stun gun on him, put his head under the wheels of a car and offered to “atone for his homeland” by joining the Wagner PMC.< /p>

The next day, the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow arrested him for 15 days due to the fact that Rudenko, according to the security forces, cursed and molested passers-by at 3 am on Prospekt Mira (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). At the exit from the detention center, he was detained and arrested for 10 days on a similar occasion.

Yesterday, when the term of the second arrest ended, Rudenko was not released again. He got through to his relatives and said that he had been taken from the Sakharovo special detention center to Khimki near Moscow, where the city court appointed him another 13 days of arrest under the same article on petty hooliganism.

Rudenko's mother, in a conversation with OVD-Info, suggested that he was being persecuted because of anti-war statements on the Internet.

In May 2022, a Muscovite was persecuted because of the symbols of the Azov Battalion. According to the database of decisions of the Moscow courts, on May 7, the police detained Timofey Rudenko and in the evening, “during a personal search” at the police department, they seized some “drawings” from him with the Ukrainian flag and the symbols of Azov. They drew up a report on the demonstration of prohibited symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), but the judges twice returned it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs due to errors.

Despite this, starting from May 9, 2022, Rudenko was placed under administrative arrest three times under the pretext that he was swearing in a public place. Twice the term was 10 days, and once again — 15 days.

The images of the chevrons of the Azov battalion in 2015 were recognized as extremist. Fines were imposed for stickers with their symbols, and a criminal case was opened against a Vladimir citizen who painted graffiti. In August 2022, after the battles for Mariupol, the Russian Supreme Court recognized Azov itself as a terrorist organization, criminalizing the very participation in the battalion.
