St. PETERSBURG, June 15 Kaspersky Lab is working to protect against fraudulent calls in messengers, as attackers move there after strengthening control over ordinary fraudulent calls, Anna Kulashova, Managing Director of the company in Russia and the CIS, said in an interview at SPIEF.
At the end of April, Maksut Shadayev, head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, said that now 70-80% of fraudulent calls in the country go through WhatsApp.
“We are clearly seeing growth. Now, solutions to protect against fraudulent phone calls have improved significantly, and attackers are much less likely to infiltrate and attack the user with standard methods. Therefore, of course, they are shifting their attention to instant messengers, which are still very difficult to track and block these malicious calls. We are working to help protect ourselves from this side in the future,» Kulashova said.
