An agreement on cooperation in the use of satellite systems in production activities within the framework of the XXVI SPIEF was signed by PJSC NK Rosneft and the State Space Corporation Roscosmos.

According to the document, the oil company and the space corporation will cooperate in the direction of geotechnical monitoring of production facilities, the development of remote sensing methods and monitoring of the Earth, as well as the detection of greenhouse gas emissions, including methane. In addition, the state corporation will assist in providing communications, television and radio broadcasting to the production sites of Rosneft Oil Company.
Close cooperation with Roskosmos will expand Rosneft's ability to further study and monitor the northern regions of the country, in particular, to implement the unique high-tech Vostok Oil project, which is the largest investment project in the global oil and gas industry. Within the framework of interaction, Earth remote sensing services are of great interest. They can be used to conduct all-weather surveys of territories for hydrometeorological, geodynamic, geotechnical and environmental monitoring.
Among other things, the cooperation agreement with the Roscosmos State Corporation provides for the implementation of research and development work necessary for implementation of projects in the field of industrial safety, logistics services and cargo transportation, providing communications and broadband Internet to the most remote assets of the company, which is especially important for the Vostok Oil project, which is located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Data related to Determining the ability of Russian forests to absorb carbon and controlling fire hazards, which can be used as part of the forest climate projects presented by Rosneft at SPIEF-2022, are also of great importance.
Soon, agreements will be created for effective implementation joint working groups of the company and the state corporation. It is planned to develop a detailed action plan that will be aimed at developing the scientific, technical and production potential of Rosneft.
