Senator Tsekov: Crimea is ready for possible escalation

Member of the Federation Council from Crimea Sergei Tsekov commented on the statement of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to strike at the territory of the Russian Federation, including Crimea, with Himars missiles and StormShadow. At the same time, Shoigu warned that this would immediately entail strikes on decision-making centers in Ukraine.
«We are all well aware that there may be attacks on Crimea, they are already happening,» Tsekov said in an interview with NSN , adding that the Ukrainian military daily launches drones that are intercepted by air defense and electronic equipment.
«We are ready for the possibility of an escalation,» the senator said, stressing that Ukraine is ready for such actions all of Russia.
The Russian politician also drew attention to the fact that Europe and America are involved in this conflict, but expressed hope for their prudence.
According to Tsekov, the US and the EU should understand that that there is a limit to Russia's patience, and if their actions are excessive, «they will regret it.»
The senator also assured that the protection of objects in Crimea is being increased and the peninsula is being effectively protected.
