Electoral Committee of the Omsk region registered two candidates for the post of governor

OMSK, June 21 Election Commission of the Omsk Region accepted documents for the post of governor of the region from the «Communists of Russia» and the Liberal Democratic Party, said the press service of the regional election commission.
Now there are five candidates for the post of governor of the Omsk region, three of them are party members, two are self-nominated. Earlier, the documents were submitted by the representative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Andrei Alekhin and self-nominees Yuri Alexandrov and Vadim Cherkin. In addition to the signatures of deputies, self-nominated candidates still need to collect about 7,000 signatures of voters.

«Documents for the nomination were presented by the representative of the Communists of Russia party — Vladimir Kazanin and the representative of the LDPR party — Maxim Makalenko,» the press service reported.

The regional electoral committee added that in the near future a representative of the United Russia party is expected with documents for nomination. The party nominated the acting governor of the region Vitaly Khotsenko. He was appointed to the post on March 29 in place of the retired Alexander Burkov.
«Recall that in support of their nomination, candidates need to overcome the municipal filter — to collect from 210 to 220 signatures of deputies of local councils and heads of municipalities. Candidates must submit documents for registration by July 26,» the press service of the regional election commission added.
Early elections of a new governor of the Omsk region will be held on September 9 and 10, 2023.
