MOSCOW, June 22 A French court cleared Luc Besson of charges of raping actress Sand Van Rooy, Rolling Stone writes.
She claimed that the director raped her in May 2018. They were having an affair at the time. In 2019, the case was closed due to lack of evidence, and Van Rooy wrote a complaint. An investigation was carried out, and the artist's application was rejected in 2021. After which Van Rooy filed an appeal again.
Now, by a court decision, she will not be able to file a lawsuit against Besson on the same charges in Europe. Also, the girl was ordered to pay the director two and a half thousand euros.
As noted by Rolling Stone, Van Rooy announced on her Twitter account that she intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
