The Department of Contemporary Art of the Togliatti Art Museum has canceled the screening of a short film from the program of the Icelandic Film Festival. This was reported in the telegram channel Kino Kvartirnik, the organizer of the event.
The message of the organizers says that this happened when the museum staff found out that the libertarian Aleksey Dydochkin would be the host — he was detained at an anti-war rally and fined according to protocols on «discrediting» the army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
“An unofficial comment (of the museum department — MZ), which we managed to get, said that Alexey and all related projects are persona non grata in any municipal institutions of the city,” wrote Kino Kvartirnik. The organizers of the festival suggested that the museum had in mind Dydochkin's anti-war position.
At the beginning of the year, State Duma deputy Alensandr Khinshtein sent a complaint to the Ministry of Culture about film screenings organized by Dydochkin, the Protocol. Samara.
In June 2022, the Avtozavodsky District Court of Togliatti fined Dydochkin 31,000 rubles because the activist posted a photo from his own picket on his VKontakte page — he went outside on February 24 with a placard «No war with Ukraine». Later, the Samara Regional Court overturned this decision, as the protocol was drawn up with violations. Also, Dydochkin was fined 30 thousand rubles for the badge on the jacket «I am a Russian against the war.»
