MOSCOW, July 1 UK intelligence agencies are investigating a hacker attack on the database of one of the departments of the national health system by hackers allegedly «connected with Russia», the Telegraph newspaper reports.
«Special forces are investigating a possible Russian cyberattack on a branch of the National Health System, which has 2.5 million patients,» the publication said.
As noted, the department, which includes six hospitals and ten clinics, was subjected to a hacker attack.
According to the publication, the hacker group BlackCat, also known as ALPHV, said on Friday that it had access to the personal data of employees, as well as financial information, including credit card information. The group also said that it had «confidential documents of citizens» at its disposal.
According to the publication, the hackers said that if representatives of the department did not get in touch with them by Monday, they would begin to publish information.
According to the publication, the national cybersecurity center has also joined the investigation.
