The Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow received materials on the choice of a measure of restraint for S. Yermenko, a person involved in the espionage case (Article 276 of the Criminal Code). The file of the case was published on the website of the court, Mediazona drew attention to it.
The investigation intends to ask the court to place Yermenko in custody. It is not known what prompted the initiation of the criminal case. A hearing on the case has not yet been scheduled.
Foreigners are being charged with espionage. There is no information about the identity of S. Yermenko yet, but today the FSB reported on the detention of a Ukrainian citizen suspected of espionage in the territory of the self-proclaimed LPR.
According to investigators, the detainee, acting in the interests of the Ukrainian military, since October 2022 has been transmitting information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the deployment of the Russian army and the People's Militia of the LPR. Under Article 276 of the Criminal Code, he faces up to 20 years in prison. It is not yet known whether the FSB message refers to Yermenko.
Earlier, the same court in Moscow sent Ukrainian citizen E. Ishchuk, who was detained in the LPR on a case of espionage and then taken to Moscow, to a pre-trial detention center. The security forces believe that she passed information about the local military to the Ukrainian special services.
