UN, Jul 5 UN Secretary General António Guterres makes political decision , including Russia in the list of «violators of children's rights» in his report, and not including Kiev in it, said Vasily Nebenzya, permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the world organization.
«As for the situation in Ukraine, the topic of protecting children, unfortunately, was cynically chosen for a dirty information campaign in order to slander our country. This campaign was unleashed in the Western media. The so-called ICC contributed to its promotion. Now, to our bewilderment, the UN Secretary General has decided to contribute to this campaign» , — Nebenzya said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
As Nebenzya noted, the Secretary General decided not to include the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the list of violators. “The question arises: why? Children of Donbass, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions do not need protection? Or do their lives have a different value? The answer is obvious: the death of children in these regions of Russia does not fit into the picture painted by Western media about Ukraine as about the flagship of democracy. So, it was more convenient to hush up all such facts,» the Russian permanent representative emphasized.
According to him, it is obvious that the UN Secretary General made a political decision. «It must be admitted that a certain courage is required to voice accusations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is difficult to counteract the open pressure of the West. The Secretary General did not find such courage in himself,» Nebenzya said.
