MOSCOW, July 13 Vladimir Zelensky said in his telegram channel that held a meeting following the NATO summit in Vilnius, Kiev began to prepare the conclusion of agreements with partners on security guarantees for Ukraine.
“»Held a meeting on the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius. A team of our international affairs specialists, the government, the office. We are now translating each agreement for Ukraine with partners in Vilnius into our concrete steps so that all agreements become concrete results. A good summit should also give good fruit,» Zelensky said.
He added that Kyiv is preparing «the conclusion of agreements with partners on security guarantees for Ukraine on the way to NATO. «We are preparing the ground for the next NATO summit in Washington,» Zelensky stressed.
NATO leaders earlier at the summit in Vilnius approved a multi-year support package for Ukraine, consisting of three elements. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the package includes a multi-year support plan to achieve interoperability with NATO, the creation of the NATO-Ukraine Council and the abolition of the conditions for fulfilling the membership action plan, which will reduce the accession process from two stages to one. According to the secretary general, the leaders of the countries of the alliance confirmed that Ukraine will become a member of NATO when the allies decide that the conditions are met.
Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» He noted that the special operation was a forced measure, Russia «was left no chance to do otherwise, security risks were created such that it was impossible to react by other means.» According to him, Russia has been trying for 30 years to agree with NATO on the principles of security in Europe, but in response it faced either cynical deceit and lies, or attempts to pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, despite Moscow’s protests, is steadily expanding and approaching borders of the Russian Federation. 1c024.jpg» /> Infographics
