VOLGOGRAD, July 14 Police have detained a man who is suspected of killing two fisherman brothers on Sarpinsky Island in Volgograd, the press service of the SUSK RF for the Volgograd region reported on Friday .
Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that on July 8, in the Volga, off the coast of Sarpinsky Island in Volgograd, the body of a 51-year-old man with stab wounds of the neck was found, the next day, the body of his 59-year-old brother was found near the pier with a broken head. Two criminal cases were initiated under the article «Murder».
According to the department, investigators managed to find a suspect in the murder, he turned out to be a 40-year-old local fisherman. It is noted that the latter had a conflict with the brothers, and he hit one with a knife, and the second with a stick on the head. Then, according to the Investigative Committee, the suspect dumped the bodies into the Volga to hide the traces of the crime.
«Currently, the investigator of the Investigative Committee detained the defendant, he confessed. The investigation intends to petition the court for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of the man,» the message says.
