The former chairman of the Rostov Regional Court, Elena Zolotareva, who is under house arrest, was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, according to 1rnd.ru and Bloknot-Rostov, citing their sources.
“The patient’s condition is extremely heavy. Even if her life is saved, the woman may still be a vegetable. So far, doctors are trying to do everything in their power, ”said the interlocutor of 1rnd.ru.
The Don Mash Telegram channel writes that the woman took handfuls of Valsartan, Kapoten and Isoptin tablets, as a result of which she suffered a cardiac arrest. This was noticed by the son of Zolotareva, he also called an ambulance. Nothing was officially reported about Zolotareva's suicide attempt.
According to Note-Rostov, Zolotareva was previously deprived of the status of a retired judge, removing her guarantees of personal immunity. She is under house arrest in the case of fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). The same measure of restraint was assigned to her former deputy Tatyana Yurova. In addition to them, Georgy Bondarenko, ex-chairman of the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Rostov-on-Don, appears in the case.
According to investigators, Zolotareva received bribes for the “necessary” decisions during the trial. During the searches at her house, the security forces found 128 million rubles, 27 thousand euros, jewelry and other valuables, writes 1rnd.ru. Yurova and Bondarenko acted as intermediaries.
In April, Zolotareva resigned as chairman of the regional court — this happened immediately after the searches in the «case of Rostov judges» about fraud. Later, Zolotareva appealed to the High Qualifications Board of Judges of Russia with a request to cancel the decision on the criminal case against her.
