The Penza District Court awarded compensation of 20 thousand rubles to the ambulance driver Maxim Moiseev, who was prosecuted in the case of evading mobilization. This is reported by the human rights project “Military Advocates”.
Moiseev was the first to be prosecuted for evading military service (Article 328 of the Criminal Code) due to the announcement of mobilization — in early October, the man was detained by the Investigative Committee in the Penza region and OMON security forces. The reason for the case was Moiseev’s refusal to sign the summons for mobilization; after his arrest, he spent two days in a temporary detention center.

On October 7, the prosecutor's office recognized the decision to initiate a criminal case as illegal, the head of the regional department of the Investigative Committee was brought to disciplinary responsibility, and Moiseev himself, as a result, received the right to rehabilitation. He went to court with a claim for compensation for moral damage, which he estimated at 300 thousand rubles.
