The Novocherkassk garrison military court sentenced the mobilized Nikolai Mikhailovsky to a fine of 250 thousand rubles in a criminal case of false mining. This was reported by the press service of the court.
The case file states that on January 23, 2023, Mikhailovsky, “in order to create panic and fear among the population <…>, wanting to satisfy his personal interest and see the actions of law enforcement agencies in an emergency situation”, called the information security center for the population of the Rostov region and said that he was going to detonate a grenade at the Kadamovsky military training ground.
According to the verdict, the serviceman intended to “disrupt public order and the normal activities of law enforcement agencies <…> from hooligan motives, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
After a call from the mobilized, FSB officers «during the operational-search activities that disrupted normal activities at the test site» found Mikhailovsky, who, as noted in court, did not take «preparatory actions for the explosion.»
According to one of the witnesses in the case, after the arrest, the serviceman said that he had reported the grenade explosion «out of hooligan motives and to see his mother.» Mikhailovsky was found guilty under the article on a knowingly false report of an explosion (Part 1 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code). He fully admitted his guilt and repented.
The court considered the mitigating circumstance that the mobilized «took part in military operations to defend the Fatherland», and the aggravating circumstance was alcohol intoxication, which «removed internal control over his behavior and affected his emotional reactions.»
