KAZAN, July 19, Adela Ziatdinova. Decision on the future fate of the stele dedicated to the achievements of two-time Olympic pole vault champion E The decree of Isinbayeva and installed in her father's native village will be accepted by the municipal authorities, said the deputy of the People's Assembly of Dagestan and the initiator of the monument, Imran Avaev.
Isinbayeva on July 17, after a long absence from the public field, announced that she would continue to work in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from September. The former athlete, who has the rank of major, said, in particular, that the military ranks received while playing for CSKA are nominal. According to her, the IOC has «no doubts» about her. The stele of Isinbayeva was installed in 2017 in the village of Chuvek, Khiva district of the Republic of Dagestan, where the father of the athlete Gadzhi Isinbayev was born.
“I was the initiator of this stele. Please note, the stele was erected in honor of sports achievements, and not in honor of Isinbayeva. There are dead and wounded in the Khiva region in the North Military District. With this in mind, I am sure that the municipality will decide on the fate of this stele. And taking into account the latest statements addressed to the Russian Federation,” Avaev said.
The deputy stressed that he has a negative attitude to the recent words of Isinbayeva.
“Negative,” he described his attitude to the words of the two-time Olympic champion. “And given the fact that there are many children from the village of Chuvek in the SVO zone, I’m sure she is no longer expected there.”
