Former military psychologist Timofey Rudenko was detained in a criminal case. This was reported to Mediazone by his mother, Yulia Kiseleva.
An acquaintance of the man clarified that he was charged with justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). Tomorrow, July 21, in the Perovsky District Court of Moscow, a meeting will be held on choosing a measure of restraint.
Rudenko said that in May 2022, the security forces came to his house, tortured him with a stun gun and demanded “a confession that he was a terrorist and was preparing terrorist attacks in Moscow and Russia as a whole.”
Kiseleva also told Mediazona that today an appeal was held in the Moscow City Court on the fifth administrative arrest of Rudenko. The decision of the capital's Ostankino district court was upheld. The man's mother suggests that her son is being persecuted because of anti-war remarks.
The military psychologist retired from service a few years ago and spoke out against the war in Ukraine on his VKontakte page. In mid-May 2023, a man was detained at the Zhukovsky airport, from where he was going to fly to Kyrgyzstan. In a conversation with Mediazona, Rudenko recalled that the security forces used a taser on him and offered to “atone for his homeland” by joining the Wagner PMC. The police detained him at the exit from the detention center. Rudenko also tried to attract according to the article about the demonstration of Nazi symbols: during a personal search, drawings with the flag of Ukraine and the Azov detachment were found in his notebooks. The judges twice returned the case to the Ministry of Internal Affairs due to errors.
