VORONEZH, Jul 20A “cholera-like pathogen” was found in an Indian citizen in the Tambov region, anti-epidemic measures are being taken at a hotel for labor migrants in Rasskazovo, where he lived, the regional government reported.
«In connection with the detection of signs of an acute intestinal infection of unknown etiology in an Indian citizen who arrived from Delhi in the Russian Federation, laboratory tests were promptly carried out on the basis of the FBUZ Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor in the Tambov Region, and a cholera-like pathogen was identified,» the report says.
According to the authorities, the patient has already hospitalized and started treatment. His condition is satisfactory.
«A set of preventive and anti-epidemic measures was immediately organized at the place of residence, including determining the circle of contacts, medical examination, laboratory examination, medical observation, emergency antibiotic prophylaxis of all contact persons, disinfection measures. No persons with signs of an infectious disease were identified,» the authorities said.
Now experts are identifying and examining people who have been in contact with the sick person. They have been placed under medical supervision and prescribed emergency preventive measures.
