Polish Foreign Ministry received a response to complaints about Putin's speech

WARSAW, July 22 Warsaw has received a proper response to complaints about Vladimir Putin's Friday speech, Russian Ambassador Sergei Andreev said.
According to the diplomat, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Pavel Yablonsky talked to him. He «exposed the claims of the Polish side about what our president said at a meeting with members of the Security Council yesterday,» the ambassador specified.
«

«Naturally, he received a proper response, explanations about how we see both the history of the 20th century and the behavior of the Polish authorities at the present time in connection with the conflict in the Donbass and Ukraine,» Andreev said.

He also stressed that during the conversation the parties «recorded a complete absence of mutual understanding and completely different approaches to issues of both history and modern politics.

Today the head of the Russian diplomatic mission was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry. The reason was Putin's statements at a meeting held the day before with permanent members of the Security Council. Among other things, the president recalled that the Western allies in 1939 left Poland to be «devoured» by the German military machine. After that, the country actually lost its independence and statehood, and it was possible to restore them largely thanks to the Soviet Union. Putin also noted that the USSR, during the reign of Joseph Stalin, helped Poland get a significant part of the German lands.
