MOSCOW, July 25 As part of the out-of-competition program of the 80th Venice Film Festival, a new film «The Palace» directed by Roman Polanski will be shown with Russian actor Alexander Petrov. Deadline reported.
The artist played one of the main roles in the film. He will appear on the screen as a bandit. The creators of «The Palace» have kept plot details a secret for now, but it is already known that the events of the film take place in a Swiss hotel on New Year's Eve.
In addition to Petrov, another Russian actor Anton Pampushny, known for his films «Defenders» and «Coma», will appear in the film. On domestic screens «Palace» will be released on November 23.
Polanski was not the only director to release a film with Russian actors this year. It became known that within the framework of the out-of-competition program of the festival, the Italian film «The Term of Time» by Liliana Cavani will be presented, in which Ksenia Rappoport played one of the roles.
The 1996 film Andrei Rublev directed by Andrei Tarkovsky will also be shown at the event.
The Venice Film Festival will be held this year on the island of Lido from 30 August to 9 September.
Earlier it became known that the first international documentary film festival «RT.Doc: Time of Heroes» will be held in St. Petersburg.
