On the eve of the St. Petersburg City Court released from custody 42-year-old programmer and organizer of the film club «Experiment» Nikolai Veprikov, accused in the case of military «fakes» because of posts on a closed page on VKontakte. Today Veprikov left SIZO-1 Kresty, MR7 reports.
The day before, Judge Natalya Kuznetsova, who ordered the release of the programmer, did not choose another preventive measure for him, but at the exit from the pre-trial detention center Veprikov was handed a written undertaking not to leave , since he remains accused in the case (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), clarifies MR7.
At the meeting, lawyer Igor Skachko noted that Veprikov was not tried, was not brought to administrative responsibility and was not hiding from the court. “I agree with the defense that it is necessary to cancel the decision made by the lower instance, since at the time of the commission of the incriminated act, part 1 of Article 207.3. classified as minor crimes. The appeal is subject to satisfaction,” said prosecutor Plotnikov.
Veprikov was detained at the end of June at the exit of the MFC, where he received a passport. Already from the pre-trial detention center, he wrote to the publication “North. Realii”: “I closed the page (on VKontakte — MZ) almost immediately after the start of the SVO. About what «publicity» In this case, there may be a question, I do not understand. Subscribers can't even repost my posts. And as employees of the Center "E" got access to them – another interesting question.”
Veprikova’s girlfriend Maria Skobeleva, who left Russia after his arrest and threats from operatives, believes that the investigation “at any moment <…> ; they can impute one more episode and put them in jail again.”
