The Investigative Committee for the city of Mirny, Arkhangelsk Region, summoned a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy for questioning as witnesses in a criminal case against their mother. This was told to Sota by the mother of the children, Lydia Prudovskaya, who is suspected of “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code).
According to the woman, on Friday, July 28, the investigator handed her three subpoenas for interrogation. The first was intended for Prudovskaya herself — as a suspect in a criminal case. The other two were for her children, who were called as witnesses.
According to Sota, the woman learned about the criminal case on July 24. What exactly caused the persecution is unknown.
Prudovskaya lives with her children in the closed city of Mirny, next to which is the Plesetsk cosmodrome and several military units. In September last year, the court fined the woman for 35 thousand rubles under the protocol on «discrediting» the army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
