O'Connor, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, denied reports of a suicide attempt in June 2016. A month before, she went missing without returning from a walk. Then the police found the artist during the day. The singer was hospitalized last year, a week after her 17-year-old son, Neviim Nesta Ali Shane O'Connor, committed suicide.
