MOSCOW, July 31 The development of the country under sanctions will be the main topic of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2023), traditional The blocs will not change, but their content will change, said Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister — Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District.
Trutnev spoke about the agenda of the forum after a meeting in the government of the Russian Federation on the preparation of the Eastern Economic Forum.
«This is the main theme of the forum. We generally made the words «Towards cooperation, peace and prosperity» the motto of the forum. We are sure that humanity simply has no other alternative. We still must cooperate, we must live in peace. And the fact that now relations with all countries are not as we would like is, in any case, temporary,» Trutnev said, answering a question from journalists about whether Russia's development in the new sanctions realities will be discussed at the forum.
He noted that it is planned to leave traditional blocks at the forum, but their content will be changed. «We will change the content greatly, restructuring it to suit a different international situation, other challenges, a different role for the Far East for our country,» Trutnev said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also said that it is planned to request an opportunity to report to Russian President Vladimir Putin on how the work at the forum has progressed over the past ten years.
«We will ask you to support holding a meeting of moderators with the president. Why? reported to the very top, and we need a meeting between the president and the moderators. This allows us to convey to him all the most daring, most important, most effective ideas,» Trutnev said.
He stressed that, first of all, the forum will talk about what has changed and what new role the Far East has begun to play for the development of the whole of Russia, since it has become a single transport corridor for foreign trade relations.
“This imposes completely new requirements on all types of transport – maritime transport, rail transport, even river transport. Therefore, we will talk about transport,” Trutnev said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that new requirements have arisen in terms of financial settlements, so this topic will also be given attention.
«In the «International Cooperation in a Changing World» block, the participants will discuss a new political and economic model of the world, tools for developing the Russian economy under sanctions, the security of capital movement, new formats of interaction with foreign companies. Special attention will be paid to the island territories of the Russian Federation,» the message says.
It is noted that business dialogues with friendly countries are also planned. The «Logistics of Change» block will be devoted to discussions of river and sea transportation, the development of the Northern Sea Route and the Eastern Range.
VEF-2023 will be held from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok (Primorsky Territory). This year the forum will be held under the slogan «Toward Cooperation, Peace and Prosperity».
