ROSTOV-ON-DON, July 31 According to preliminary information, a gas cylinder explosion occurred in a garage cooperative in Volgodonsk, Rostov Region, five garages were damaged, a representative of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the region told reporters.
«At 9.35, information was received that a gas cylinder exploded in a garage cooperative at 15 Prospekt Mira. Five garages were damaged, two of them were completely destroyed,» he said.
According to preliminary information from the department, there were no casualties.
The head of the administration of Volgodonsk, Sergei Makarov, also said that the main version of what happened was an explosion of domestic gas. «There were no explosive devices,» he said in his appeal to the townspeople on social networks.
He added that operatives and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene of the incident.
