In St. Petersburg, a man set fire to the porch of the department of the military commissariat for the Central District of the city, and also tried to ram the gate leading to the courtyard of the building by car. This was reported by the press service of the administration of the St. Petersburg region.
As specified by the local authorities, the fire started at 19:15. “An unknown man set fire to the entrance doors of the military commissariat and tried to ram the arched gate in a car,” the administration said in a statement.
The fire spread to one square meter, it was quickly extinguished. The district authorities assessed the damage to the building of the military commissariat as «insignificant». The police have already detained a suspect in arson.
Fontanka writes without citing sources that about two weeks ago a man who introduced himself as «FSB officer Kolesnikov» was instructed to set fire to the door of the military registration and enlistment office. “The employee allegedly needed to obtain some documents from the military registration and enlistment office related to Ukraine,” the publication claims.
