Tatiana was unable to contact her daughter by phone, so she called the department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for Kabardino-Balkaria. There she was told that Polyudova was in a punishment cell. The reason for placing the activist in the ShIZO was a blade found in her things.
In early July, Polyudova told her mother that she had gone on a hunger strike because unknown people had planted a blade on her shortly after being transferred to IK-4. She feared that punishment might follow.
Polyudova was the first in Russia convicted under an article on calls for separatism because of the March for the Federalization of Kuban announced in the Krasnodar Territory. After her release from the colony, she moved to Moscow in 2017 and created the Left Resistance movement.
Participants of a small association came out with pickets and protests, including in support of Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar political prisoners. The group of the movement said that its supporters “come out against the capitalist oppressors for all the oppressed, for the power of the working people.”
In January 2020, Polyudova was sent to a pre-trial detention center. In May 2021, she was given a first term due to postabout the Chechen field commander Shamil Basayev and videoabout the shooting at Lubyanka, which was found on her phone. At the end of 2022, the sentence was increased to nine years in prison: the activist was found guilty of creation of an “extremist community” and justification of terrorism in two Left Resistance posts.
