«Anyone who puts himself above the constitution should never become president of the United States. On January 6, former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the constitution, I chose the constitution and always I will make that choice,» Pence tweeted.
He emphasized that the new accusation against Trump is a reminder of the importance of observing the country's fundamental law.
Pence, like Trump, will compete for the Republican nomination in the 2024 presidential election, he promised the electorate to always protect fellow citizens, but strictly within the framework of the constitution.
