NOVOSIBIRSK, Aug 5At the initial stage of the implementation of the national project «Unmanned Aerial Systems», Russia needs at least 100,000 drone operators at the rate of one operator per one registered drone, Andrey Dobryakov, deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, told reporters on Saturday at Archipelago 2023 in Novosibirsk.
“This is a very interesting new sector of the economy, everything is new here. According to rough estimates, there are already more than 100 thousand drones registered by the Federal Air Transport Agency. Accordingly, we believe that at the moment we need to look one to one – there are already 100 thousand operators we need. If they all take off at the same time 100,000, then 100,000 people are needed. This is for this year in order to just start the national project,» he said.
Dobryakov noted that part of the national project will be dedicated to personnel training, including additional research work, which will determine how many operators are needed for how many drones, what types of drones will be required, which will be without operators. «But now we are considering one to one,» he said.
Speaking about the prospects for increasing the fleet of drones in Russia, the deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency noted that the forecast is «enormous» and according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, by 2030 the fleet of drones will be replenished by more than 100,000 drones a year.
“There are no fundamental objections to launching our national project (the Unmanned Aerial Systems national project — ed.). something may go wrong. Something will definitely be improved, but, in my opinion and the opinion of the expert community, nothing prevents us from launching,» he said about plans to start work in the Russian Federation on a new national project.
