MOSCOW, Aug 17 Golos Movement * On the eve of the elections, it released a series of reports discrediting the election campaign, said Vasily Piskarev, chairman of the State Duma Commission to investigate the facts of interference by foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia.
“The monitoring group of the Commission established that on the eve of the elections (in Russia), the movement “Golos”*, recognized as a foreign agent, issued a series of reports discrediting the election campaign… The materials contain tendentious conclusions about the impossibility of fair elections in Russia, pseudo-experts criticize the Russian electoral legislation, on far-fetched grounds, the procedure for remote electronic voting is called into question,» Piskarev told reporters.
Also, according to him, these «expert fabrications» are backed by «solid financial support» and grants from traditional foreign sources.
«The dissemination of Golos* materials is coordinated by a network of foreign media projects, non-governmental organizations and foreign agents. The monitoring group of the State Duma Commission continues to work to identify and suppress attempts from abroad to influence the course and results of elections in Russia,» — he noted.
