
MINSK, Aug 23 Belarus counts on support all the BRICS member countries of her application for an early admission to the organization, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Sergei Aleinik in Johannesburg, where the BRICS summit is being held.
“In principle, all the leaders of the BRICS member countries expressed their political support for expanding the membership of the organization. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry noted that BRICS has become a self-sufficient international organization that contributes to the formation of a more just world order. Today, on the sidelines of the Johannesburg summit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus held a number of bilateral meetings, including with his colleagues from Saudi Arabia and Equatorial Guinea, the Minister of International Cooperation of the UAE, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination of Angola, as well as with the President of Eritrea . «All meetings were held in a very constructive and friendly atmosphere,» Sergei Aleinik stressed, adding that the emphasis during the meetings was on cooperation in the field of agriculture and ensuring food security in these countries.
