PYATIGORSK, August 23 A resident of the Stavropol Territory, who swore allegiance to the leader of the international terrorist organization «Islamic State» * in the colony, was sentenced to 17 years in prison, reports the Southern District Military court.
According to the agency, in 2021, while serving a sentence in a correctional facility in the Stavropol Territory, a man took an oath of allegiance to the head of the banned international terrorist organization Islamic State*. The defendant recorded the process of pronouncing it on video and sent it to another person.
«In accordance with the court's verdict, the defendant was found guilty and sentenced to the totality of this sentence and the sentence of the Lermontov City Court of the Stavropol Territory dated February 21, 2019 in the form of imprisonment for a term of 17 years in a special regime correctional colony with the first 3 years in prison,» the agency said in a statement.
