ISS orbit adjusted to avoid space debris

MOSCOW, August 24The orbit of the International Space Station was corrected using the engines of the Russian module Zvezda: there was a risk of collision with space debris, the Roscosmos press service told reporters on Thursday.
«Today, the orbit of the International Space Station was corrected using the engines of the Russian service Zvezda module to avoid a possible collision with space debris,» the message says.

The Zvezda engines were turned on at 18.00 Moscow time and worked for 21.5 seconds. They gave out an impulse of 0.3 meters per second, as a result of which, according to preliminary data, the height of the ISS orbit decreased by 500 meters. The orbital parameters after the correction are: the minimum height is 414.37 kilometers, the maximum is 434.59 kilometers. -24″ with the station, which is scheduled for Friday, August 25.
This was the 344th orbital altitude correction for the entire duration of the ISS flight.
