In St. Petersburg, a criminal case was opened against a local resident, Elena Abramova, because of a solitary picket. This is reported by OVD-Info with reference to lawyer Igor Skachko.
Abramova is charged with repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) – the activist’s house was searched, after which she was sent to < span class="mz-publish-hint" data-body="<p>Detention Facility.</p>" data-type="hint" data-slate-custom="{"data-body":"<p>Detention Facility.</p>","body":"<p> ;Temporary Detention Facility.</p>","isCreated":false,"migrationId":"1646998844495","html":null}">IVS until a measure of restraint is chosen. Later, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg ordered the woman a ban on certain actions.
The reason for the criminal prosecution was a single picket held on June 4, the birthday of politician Alexei Navalny. On that day, the activist went to Gostiny Dvor with a poster “Freedom to Navalny! Freedom to all political prisoners! No war!». Later, she was detained and taken to the police department, releasing from there with an obligation to appear.
Previously, Abramova was twice penalized under the administrative article on “discrediting” the army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to single pickets. In February, the activist was fined 30,000 rubles because of a rally with a “No to war” poster, the court decision came into force in May.
