In 2024, the USE assignments in literature may not include the works of the classics Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolai Gogol and other authors of the early 19th century. Journalists noticed that several sections were proposed to be excluded from the exam at once: ancient Russian literature, literature of the 18th century, as well as works related to the “golden age” of Russian literature. In particular, the poem «The Tale of Igor's Campaign» disappeared from the codifier. Schoolchildren may also stop testing for knowledge of the works of the author of the words of the anthem of the Russian Empire «God save the Tsar!» Vasily Zhukovsky and playwright Alexander Griboedov.
At the same time, it was proposed to add more prose and poetry about the Great Patriotic War to the lists of mandatory ones.
In addition, the codifier mentions «patriotic education». Control and measuring materials should, according to the compilers, emphasize «the formation of Russian civic identity, patriotism, respect for one's people, a sense of responsibility to the Motherland, pride in one's land, one's Motherland.» They should also reflect «ideological conviction, readiness to serve and protect the Fatherland, responsibility for its fate» in a student.
Earlier, «Mediazona» drew attention to the demo versions of exams for graduates of the 9th and 11th classes. Within the framework of the Unified State Exam in history, school graduates are offered to compare events related to the “special military operation” and the inclusion of the occupied territories of Ukraine into Russia, and ninth-graders are offered to read a text about a participant in the war and solve problems about “State Z”.
