The FSB reported on the arrest of a resident of the Kaluga region, who, according to the intelligence service, planned to commit a terrorist attack in Kaluga, leave for Ukraine and join the Azov regiment. This is stated in the press release of the department, which is quoted by RIA Novosti.
A resident of the Kaluga region «established and maintained contact with representatives of the Ukrainian paramilitary group, and also, on their instructions, intended to commit a terrorist act at one of the critical infrastructure facilities of Kaluga,» the report says.
The FSB claims to have found components of an explosive device in a cache made by the detainee, and in his equipment, instructions for making a homemade bomb and “correspondence with the Ukrainian coordinator.” The man was arrested and charged in the about preparing for treason and a terrorist attack, as well as participation in a terrorist organization.
In a video published by RIA Novosti, a resident of the Kaluga region, whose face is hidden, says that «from the beginning of the military operation, after some time, he began to help organizations on the territory of Ukraine by transferring funds.»
According to the detainee, a man named Taras contacted him. “I received the task to collect the components for creation and place them in caches on the territory of the Kaluga region. After completing this task, I received instructions to leave the territory of the Russian Federation, purchased tickets and was detained by FSB officers upon departure, ”the man said on camera.
