Ukrainian media with a link to Belarusian sources report that on the night of August 29, an explosion occurred on the border of the two countries.
It is reported that an explosion occurred on the railway bridge located exactly on the border, about a kilometer from the Slovechno station in the Gomel region. The publications say that «preliminarily, several TM-62M anti-tank mines were detonated.» The photographs from the scene of the emergency show the destroyed canvas of both tracks near the border pillar. It is also reported that the bridge support was damaged.
At the same time, the Ukrainian media write that «the cause of the explosion could be a lightning strike.»
Representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko in an interview with the media confirmed the fact of the explosion, and also stressed that no one was hurt, because in the border areas of the country there are restrictions on the movement of people and vehicles.
