Adyrkhayeva passed away on August 27 at the age of 85.

Svetlana Adyrkhaeva was born on May 12, 1938 in the village of Khumalag (North Ossetia). In 1955, the artist graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School (class of Varvara Mei, Elena Shiripina). In 1980 she graduated from the ballet master department of the State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS). She was awarded the title «People's Artist of the USSR» in 1984.
At the Bolshoi Theater she performed the parts of Odette-Odile in Swan Lake, Street Dancer in Don Quixote, Magnolia in Cipollino and many others.
