“In August 2023, according to the agency, more than 6.4 thousand tons of freshly cut flowers worth over $45.8 million were cleared by customs authorities,” the FCS said, adding that flowers are mainly imported from the Netherlands (45%) and Ecuador (37%).
According to the agency, the main share of imported flowers is roses (35%), chrysanthemums (28%), other freshly cut flowers for bouquets (phloxes, hydrangeas, hydrangeas, alstroemerias and others) were imported a little less — their share was 27%.
At the same time, the largest volume of declarations is carried out in the region of activity of the North-Western Customs Administration (52%) and the Moscow Customs (41%).
«About 60% of declarations were issued automatically, in the same period last year this figure was 39%,» the agency added.
