Premiere of the mid-size crossover Lynk & Co 08 took place back in March of this year, but only today it went on sale in the Chinese market: there are two plug-in hybrid power plants to choose from (one with front-wheel drive, the other with all-wheel drive) and two batteries with a capacity of 21.2 and 39 .8 kWh.
Geely holding launched a subsidiary brand Lynk & Co in 2016, its commercial successes until recently were quite modest, but the systematic expansion of the model line is bearing fruit, the sales curve has finally gone up: in the first three quarters of this year, the Lynk & Co, according to a Geely report for investors, sold 117,934 cars, which is 10% more than in January-August 2022.

The crossover with index 08 became the seventh Lynk & Co, it is built on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform developed by Volvo and is currently the largest carrier of this platform: overall length — 4820 mm, width — 1915 mm, height — 1685 mm, wheelbase — 2848 mm, ground clearance — 186 mm. Suspension — spring, front — McPherson type, rear — multi-link.
For Lynk & Co 08 only plug-in hybrid power plants are announced. The younger one consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine (163 hp, 225 Nm), to which an electric motor (218 hp, 350 Nm) and a three-speed hybrid automatic transmission DHT are attached, the maximum total output of such a power plant is 381 hp and 615 Nm, front-wheel drive. The volume of the fuel tank is 60 l, the capacity of the traction battery is 21.2 kWh, the electric range without turning on the internal combustion engine is 102 km on the WLTP cycle or 120 km on the CLTC cycle.
The front-wheel drive version is also available with a 39.8 kWh battery, which increases the electric range to 205 km on the WLTP cycle or 245 km on the CLTC cycle, and in hybrid mode with a full tank you can travel 1,400 km on the CLTC cycle.< /p> 1/3

In the all-wheel drive version, the rear wheels are driven by its own electric motor (212 hp, 290 Nm), and the front power unit is the same as in the front-wheel drive versions, the maximum total output of the power plant is 593 hp. and 905 Nm. The all-wheel drive crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h (for front-wheel drive versions — 190 km/h).

There are two rows of seats in the cabin; there is no “gallery” provided. Trunk volume is 545 liters, with the rear seat backs folded down — 1277 liters. The laconicly designed panel has no physical buttons; the fully virtual 12.3-inch instrument panel is complemented by a giant 92-inch color projection screen on the windshield. The central multimedia screen is 15.4-inch, the Lynk Flyme Auto operating system was developed for it by Meizu. The standard 1600-watt Harman Kardon audio system has 23 loudspeakers, some of them are built into the headrests of the front seats and a soundbar that acts as a visor on the front panel. The front seats are equipped with massagers, the passenger seat can be folded into a bed (there is a retractable footrest). The equipment in general is very rich, the finishing is high-quality, the LED lighting is “cheerful” — in general, Chinese premium at its best.

Prices for Lynk & Co 08 in China starts from 208,800 yuan (2.8 million rubles in translation at the current exchange rate) for the front-wheel drive version, an all-wheel drive crossover costs at least 261,800 yuan (3.5 million rubles). It is still unknown whether the new model will be exported: the European career of Lynk & Co somehow stalled, although initially the European market was called almost the key one. Now Lynk & Co works mainly for the home, Chinese market; all subsequent new products of the brand (there will be at least two every year) will be plug-in hybrid or fully electric.
