Shmygal promised to supply grain to Africa and Asia via the Danube

MOSCOW, September 8 The Ukrainian government has approved a decree according to which humanitarian aid in the form of wheat and corn will be supplied to African and Asian countries through the Danube ports, it was reported on Friday Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in his Telegram channel.
“The Danube ports will now be involved in providing humanitarian aid in the form of wheat and corn to countries in Africa and Asia. The corresponding resolution was approved at a government meeting. Assistance will be provided within the framework of Vladimir Zelensky’s Grain from Ukraine initiative,” Shmygal wrote. He noted that Kyiv continues to work with the UN and other partners to fully restore agricultural exports from Ukraine and finally unblock the Black Sea ports.

As the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Nikolai Solsky reported on August 17, Kiev over the past month exported through Ukrainian ports on the Danube (Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk) 2 million tons of agricultural products, this figure is planned to be doubled.

The grain deal ceased on July 18, the Russian Federation notified Turkey, Ukraine and the UN of its objection to its extension. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously noted that the terms of the deal regarding Russia were not fulfilled, despite the efforts of the UN, because Western countries were not going to fulfill their promises. Putin has repeatedly pointed out that the West exported most of Ukrainian grain to its own states, and the main goal of the deal — supplying grain to countries in need, including African ones — was never realized.
As reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, after the cessation of the Black Sea grain initiative and the curtailment of the maritime humanitarian corridor, all ships traveling in the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports, from midnight on July 20, 2023, are considered as potential carriers of military cargo and are considered involved in the Ukrainian conflict is on the side of the Kiev regime.
