Nadya Ruchka: “Russian artists have great values”

MOSCOW, September 9, Alina Kravtsova . The Rossiya TV channel premiered the anniversary fifth season of the show “Come on, all together!”, one of the judges of which was the lead singer of “Brilliant” Nadya Ruchka. The performer told what she got from participating in this project, why she returned to the group, and how she builds personal happiness.
– Your impressions of filming the fifth season of the vocal show “Come on, all together!” on the Rossiya TV channel?
– I really liked the contestants. Of course, we can’t talk about this, but they really are more interesting and brighter from year to year! Moreover, you know, this is one of the rare TV shows where everything is about music — there are no scandals, nothing jaundiced. This is a project of creativity and celebration, including for people who are far from our profession — you can learn a lot of interesting things.

– If all the contestants are so wonderful, it’s probably not easy to choose the best?

– Everything is not always clear, of course, many different aspects need to be taken into account. For example, you hear a person, you see his potential, but, for example, he is worried. I know this from myself. It happens that even at school someone studies well, but at the time of a competition or exam it’s like a blank sheet of paper. And I sometimes make a big allowance for excitement. I can’t say that you only evaluate voice data — we analyze the performance in many aspects, and this is not easy. It happens that a person is so cold and arrogant that the soul cannot even support him.

And the most difficult thing is at the end, when the best remain. And you don't know how many people will stand up. Let’s say you sit there and think, okay, this person seemed to perform well, but not to the end — I won’t get up. And then you realize that no one did anything better after that and you regret it. There are actually a lot of such nuances.
— Philip Kirkorov said in one of the episodes “Come on, let’s all get together!” that he was an ugly duckling and did not immediately become a confident artist. Did you have an “ugly duckling” period?

– Sometimes it seems to me that I’m still in this period. All the time there is somehow a lot of fears, worries, worries. After I heard that worrying is normal, I calmed down a little.

– Now there are many musicians whose names few people know — they did not graduate from specialized educational institutions, did not work on themselves and became famous thanks to the Internet. How do you feel about such lucky people?
– This is life, we need to look at it more broadly. These are some kind of paths, roads of fate — where they are, how, who and through what they are led out is unknown. Such a trend, such a time. I don’t like it when adults talk about young people that they are somehow different — these young people grew up in the fields that you plowed. Therefore, what has grown has grown. Now they sing like this, work like this, and this is how they managed to get out.

We can also grieve for those people, the most talented people, who some 20-30 years ago simply died without the opportunity to go on stage, because they did not have good, successful comrades who would help them. Now it's the other extreme. Many come for a short time, some grow above themselves and make a career. I’m not inclined to paint everyone with the same brush.
– Which young musicians do you like?
– Lucy Chebotina has a beautiful voice, I like NILETTO, HammAli &Navai. Some of the artists take advantage of the fact that they write great music and lyrics — now many guys sing their own. Vanya Dmitrienko is a very cool guy. I watched the show with him — he thinks well, has great values. A lot of interesting guys, in fact.

– And your new songs – do you write them yourself?

– I have written songs before, but mainly for male performance. Somehow I’m structured like this, that it’s closer to me to write for men. I mostly sing songs by other authors. Besides, I have a very low voice, and not every song sounds in that key. So, when I started singing solo, it was a search for myself and an internal response — how interesting this or that song is to me.
— Your recent return to Blestyashchiye — how serious and long-lasting is it?
– Initially, we reunited to participate in the project — we recorded a song and shot a video with Mikhail Galustyan. There was a conversation that I would return to the team for the next couple of years — for now I’m working there.

– And what is it like to return to the team after a long break?

– I feel good with the girls and, to be honest, It’s very cool and nice to feel like you’re on stage again, to feel the audience and the connection with them. There is, however, a certain excitement, but I’m glad that that call happened, and now I’m back at Blestyashchiye.
– In the program “Secret for a Million” with your participation they showed the group “Brilliant” during a tour in Yekaterinburg — a simple hotel, an economy class flight. How do you cope with the inconveniences of touring? Perhaps you've lost the habit?
– Hotels are different, in the next city, for example, I had a gigantic room. Now there are five people in the team, and not every organizer can handle, say, the same business classes. That's why we have it like this now, and it's absolutely normal.

– Do you have any special wishes for the rider?

– No, it seems to me that sometimes some special things are introduced into it as an element of PR. An artist doesn’t need much — napkins, towels near the stage, water, food in the dressing room if it’s been a long journey. Although I never eat before going on stage.
– Why?
– So that the fiber doesn’t swell in your stomach, otherwise you won’t be able to put on your suit later. It’s better not to eat anything salty on the eve of the concert, no sauerkraut — so that there is no swelling on the face.

– Is it true that you do your makeup yourself?

– We at Blestyashchiye always did our makeup ourselves, make-up artists only at some big concerts or filming. There are too many of us for makeup artists to ride with us.
— The secret of your slimness?
– Physical activity must be mandatory – I go in for sports, swimming. I walked a lot during maternity leave. I just can’t do it any other way, it’s a lifestyle. Then separate meals — meat, fish only with vegetables. If I want to eat sweets, then only at breakfast. I use the elevator at a minimum. And I also have an iron rule — drink at least a couple of glasses of clean water on an empty stomach.
– How do you spend time with your family?

– With us, everything is somehow spontaneous, to be honest. If you have time, go to the park for a walk or have a picnic. In the summer we often take a rug with us and lie under the apple trees. We used to live on Kolomenskaya, and we really liked it. They played music and had fun. We often go to premieres. You don't have to come up with anything specific. For me, the greatest happiness is just to be at home with everyone, joke, play, discuss films.
– The peak of popularity of “Brilliant” was the 2000s. Don't you miss those times?
– The 2000s were noisy for everyone. I can't say that I miss it very much. I was never at home — so much so that I forgot where my hot and cold water taps were.

I am pleased that now everything is so harmonious with me — I have time to spend time with my child , and sing at the concert. And so far, my husband and I’s schedule coincides so much that I don’t need the help of a nanny.

– Are you coping with the baby yourself?
– Our grandparents far away and my husband and I are supporting each other. Sometimes Denis picks him up from kindergarten, sometimes I – until everything works out. Therefore, I am happy with everything!
