The next SUV of the Chinese brand is comparable in size to the large X90 Plus SUV, which is already presented on the Russian market.
< p>The Jetour brand belongs to the Chinese company Chery: the brand was created in 2018 with a young audience in mind. Now Jetour cars are also present on the Russian market, and the first-born here was the five-seat crossover X90 Plus, and the seven-seat version joined it just the other day. The local lineup also includes the Dashing SUV, and by the end of the month an entry-level SUV, the X70 Plus, will reach the Russian Federation.

Now the company continues to develop new models, one of them very soon will be the Jetour Shanghai L9. Pictures of the brand's next crossover were published in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry. Judging by them, this model received narrow-shaped running lights, designed in the form of a strip that runs under the edge of the hood. Below is a large radiator grille with a mesh pattern with triangular elements. On the sides you can see the main headlight units, and a relatively small air intake is integrated into the lower part of the front bumper.
< p>The car received a body kit around the perimeter of the body, made of unpainted plastic; the profile was decorated with linings on the wheel arches. There are chrome-like decorative elements at the front, at the stern and on the edge of the side glazing. It is worth noting that the design of the stern is practically no different from the Jetour X90 Plus, the list of differences includes only a nameplate with the model name — Shanhai L9.

Judging by data from the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China, the basic version of the new crossover received 19-inch wheels, and the richer version was equipped with 20-inch wheels. It is likely that the model will have versions with both a two- and three-row interior, and there will be modifications with a three-seater sofa in the middle and a pair of captain's chairs. That is, the car interior is designed for five, six or seven passengers.
Obviously, the basis The new items are based on the X90 Plus crossover: they have the same wheelbase (2850 mm) and width (1925 mm). At the same time, the Jetour Shanghai L9 turned out to be a modest 4 mm longer (4862 mm) and the same amount higher (1784 mm). Local media believe that the company will position the new model as a mid-size SUV.

In addition, the Chinese noted that the manufacturer will produce brand cars with a hybrid within the Shanhai line «stuffing». According to information posted in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the Jetour Shanhai L9 is based on a gas-electric installation based on a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a power of 156 hp, working in tandem with a 143-horsepower electric motor. Information on the total output of the system, as well as the capacity of the lithium-ion battery, will be known later. The maximum speed of the crossover is limited to 180 km/h.
Recall that the Russian representative office of Jetour promised to replenish the line with the “severe” Traveler crossover: the model is expected to reach the Russian Federation next year. This monocoque SUV is currently only available in the domestic market, where it is offered with a choice of two petrol turbo engines — a 1.5-liter turbo-four (184 hp, 290 Nm) and a 2.0-liter (254 hp, 290 Nm) 390 Nm).
