MOSCOW, September 13. The German construction industry is in a difficult situation, writes Das Erste.
“It is heading towards the wall at high speed,” said Jörg Dittrich, head of the Central Trade Association.
He added that it was a key sector for skilled workers, employing 2.33 million people.
Projects that were funded several years ago are still in progress, and funding for new ones has been greatly reduced, the publication notes.
“If policymakers do not take countermeasures, this will result in a reduction in capacity,” concluded Dittrich.
At the end of August, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz admitted that the national economy is going through hard times, especially due to its dependence on exports. According to him, in recent years it was necessary to increase the national debt by hundreds of billions of euros in order to cope with the pandemic and mitigate the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions, which caused energy prices to rise sharply.
The West increased economic pressure on Russia after the start of a special operation in Ukraine . But this led primarily to rising prices for electricity, fuel and food in Europe and the USA. Vladimir Putin called the main goal of this policy the worsening of the lives of millions of people.
