TEHRAN, September 20 Moscow and Tehran strengthen strategic partnership in the defense sector, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Reza Ashtiani.
«We are aimed at implementing the entire range of planned activities, despite opposition from the United States and its Western allies. Sanctions pressure on Russia and Iran shows its futility, while Russian-Iranian interaction is reaching a new level,» he said .
The Minister expressed his readiness for further joint actions in the field of strengthening stability and security in the Middle East, and noted with satisfaction that the Russian-Iranian dialogue is developing particularly intensively.
According to him, This is largely due to the trusting relationship that has developed between the leaders of Russia and Iran.
“The high dynamics of the meetings confirm the general mood for further strengthening of the strategic partnership in the defense sector and military cooperation,” Shoigu emphasized.
The day before, a delegation led by Shoigu arrived in Tehran for negotiations with the military leadership of Iran. As noted in the Russian military department, this visit will help strengthen Russian-Iranian military ties and will become an important stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries.
