The next part about the adventures of already beloved heroes and new characters will be released during the New Year holidays, 1 January 2026,” the message says.
It is added that the same team is working on the second part, including screenwriters and producers, that created the first film, the director is Dmitry Dyachenko. The script is now being finalized, locations are being selected, director Dyachenko announced, and the preparation process is in full swing.
According to the general director of the Rossiya TV channel, Anton Zlatopolsky, with such a level of popular love and support, it would be dishonest to leave the viewer without continuing the adventures of Cheburashka.
“And we are glad that in this project “the same ears stick out” — the famous ears of our mutual beloved friend — the new film is being made by the same team: partners, director, actors and, of course, the main character himself! The plot of the new part will develop a year after the events of the first film, Cheburashka gradually gets used to life with Gena, but like any growing child, he begins to show excessive independence, and sometimes even become a hooligan, said Vitaly Shlyappo, general producer of Yellow, Black and White.
“Cheburashka is a hero with crushing sincerity — he was able to reach millions of hearts around the world, uniting parents, children, grandparents in front of the screen, showing them that they are much closer to each other than they used to think. The release states that the feature film «Cheburashka» won the hearts of people and the top line in the list of the highest-grossing films in the history of domestic distribution, collecting more than 6.5 billion rubles and 22 million spectators in cinemas.
