A group of American lawmakers has asked Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan to provide information on the department's spending on Ukraine. The letter, published on the website of Senator James David Vance of Ohio, calls on Sullivan to clarify the total amount of government funds allocated by government agencies for the war in Ukraine and for countries affected by this situation. The letter also requests information on all other costs related to the conflict and borne by American taxpayers.
Lawmakers have expressed their concerns about the transparency and honesty of the US administration regarding the costs of assistance to Ukraine and countries affected by this situation. The letter was signed by Vance, as well as members of the US House of Representatives Matt Gaetz of Florida and Chip Roy of Texas.
