The editor-in-chief of the “Pskov province” was fined for the third time according to the protocol on violation of the procedure for the activities of a “foreign agent”

The Pskov City Court fined the editor-in-chief of the local publication “Pskovskaya Guberniya” Denis Kamalyagin 40 thousand rubles under a protocol for violating the activities of a “foreign agent”. This was reported by the joint press service of the regional courts.

Kamalyagin was found guilty of not marking telegram posts with the label “foreign agent” (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). As Pskov Province clarifies, Kamalyagin had already been fined twice under similar protocols.

The Ministry of Justice declared the editor-in-chief of Pskovskaya Guberniya a “foreign agent” back in December 2020. Because of this, Roskomnadzor subsequently refused to issue a media license to the publication. In June of this year, VKontakte, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, blocked the page of the Pskov Province after publications about military losses.

Today, Moscow courts imposed fines of 40 thousand rubles on the ex-player of the What? Where? When?» and journalist Rovshan Askerov, as well as sociologist and editor-in-chief of the Rabkor publication Boris Kagarlitsky, who is in pretrial detention in a case of justifying terrorism, due to the lack of “foreign agent” markings in publications.
