The vice-rector of St. Petersburg State University asked to dismiss from the university a teacher who is acting as an expert for the defense in the case of artist Sasha Skochilenko

SPbU Vice-Rector for Legal Affairs Yuri Penov asked to dismiss philologist Svetlana Drugoveyko-Dolzhanskaya, who is an expert for the defense in the case of artist Sasha Skochilenko, from the university. The minutes of the meeting of the ethics commission are published on the university website.

In January, Skochilenko said at one of the meetings in her case that the results of Drugoveiko-Dolzhanskaya’s examination completely prove her innocence and refute the prosecution’s arguments.

“The textual analysis of experts is replaced by unsubstantiated statements that go beyond their competence, which indicates that the experts are biased. The authors do not have sufficient knowledge of the norms of coordination, the requirement of logic is repeatedly violated by the authors of the examination,” wrote Drugoveyko-Dolzhanskaya in a review of the examination, which was prepared by other teachers of St. Petersburg State University — Olga Safonova and Anastasia Grishanina. Safonova and Grishina came to the conclusion that Skochilenko was spreading “fake news” about the army.

Penova’s complaint states that Drugoveyko-Dolzhanskaya “spoke sarcastically about the competence of her colleagues” and publishes “incorrect comments and expressions” about their professionalism on social networks. Thus, according to the vice-rector of the university, the philologist “casts doubt on the professional competence of St. Petersburg State University experts, as well as the status of St. Petersburg State University as an expert organization.”

The Ethics Commission found that Drugoveiko-Dolzhanskaya “violated the moral and ethical standards of behavior university student.» There is no information about the philologist’s dismissal from the university.

Sasha Skochilenko has been in pre-trial detention since April 13, 2022. The artist is accused of in spreading “fake news” about the army for changing price tags in the Perekrestok store to stickers with information about events in Ukraine.
